Welcome

Welcome to the website for Rossendale Model Stock Car Club

For over 30 years, we have been racing 1/32nd scale replicas of Brisca stock cars. Our home track is based at Nelson in Lancashire, where we have the main 6 lane track. Nelson also houses a smaller 4 lane track that is used occasionally. Racing also takes place at Strides in Burnley on a 4 lane track and at Blackley in Manchester on a 5 lane oval. The tracks are purpose built ovals and by tapering all the lanes very close together on one straight, contact is not only allowed but encouraged. Check out the fixture page for a full run down of events

We have a member base of around 60 registered racers, with around half of these regularily racing.

Our cars are based around a standard scalextric motor, using brass to make up the chassis, then either plasticard or more brass to make up the body. Information on how to build an RMSCC spec car will appear on this website soon.

Webster Wins Submitted: 05-Mar-10

It was the 11th running of the Lancashire Open and the first at the new Nelson Raceway on Sunday 28th of Feb 2010.

First in the order of the days proceedings was the Whites and Yellows Championship.
It was no surprise, with the recent form of #12 Dylan Brown to see him lift his first trophy with RMSCC. Although it was very close in the end and came down to the last few race’s, Dylan just edging out #57 Michael Whitley by 2 points. #90 Young Fenny finished 3rd in what was a very good race to start the meeting.

The heats had a few surprises with #52 Martin Lamb, #26 Billy Webster and #19 Chris Hodgson winning there respective heats, taking the Red grade start in the final. Two tough consolations followed with the top 2 from each taking the superstar line in the 7 car final. #4 Tony Blackburn and #29 Dan Rogers qualifying in the first and #51 Steve Holgate and #15 Chris Crewe in the second.

Lancashire Open Final: This is probably the toughest Trophy to win with the closed grid format and only 6 inches separating the entire field. A double length Final with the grid being reversed at half way. 5 race’s a lane per competitor means no less than 70 race’s to decide the outcome. With the defending champion and 2 previous winners on the back row the closed grid provided the close racing and bumpers were flying in from all angles, this was one of the hardest hitting Finals in recent history with less than half the field finishing in the majority of race’s. In the end consistent finishing and a good string of wins in the last 3 lanes gave #26 Billy Webster the Title, #52 Martin Lamb took 2nd place and #51 Steve Holgate finished 3rd.

The afternoon was rounded off with a Grand National, #51 Steve taking the win by just 1 point from #17 Micky and #57 Mickey finishing in 3rd place.

Billy Webster is the 4th BRISCA F2 Driver to take the title

Billy is also only the second yorkshire racer taking the title across the hills.

Its been there 2 years on the run now.

In 2011 will the title return to Lancashire?
